Test build. Not a stable release — Android only, and not the version to install if you want a quiet life.
What to test
Settings → Notifications → Sync to Android Calendar (beta). Turning it on copies your CalDAV events into Android's own calendar, so the system delivers the reminders instead of the web app. The new part in this build is that it keeps doing so in the background, roughly hourly, so an event someone adds on another device reaches your phone even if you have not opened Calino since.
There is a Learn more button next to the switch explaining what gets copied and what does not.
The thing most likely to break it
Battery optimisation. On Xiaomi/HyperOS, Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus and Huawei the background pass gets frozen or killed outright. Set Calino to No restrictions in the system battery settings, or the hourly refresh simply will not run and you will only see events from the last time the app was open.
Known limits
- The copy is one way. Calino writes to the device calendar; edits made in the device calendar are not sent back to your CalDAV server.
- Only calendars ticked visible in Calino are mirrored.
- Turning the switch off removes the mirrored calendars again.
Install
Download the APK below. It is signed with the normal Calino release key, so it upgrades an existing install in place.
Because 0.27.0-beta.1 and the eventual 0.27.0 share a version code, the final release will need to be installed over this one rather than upgrading itself.
