InterTune can now tell you when there is a new version
This is the big one. InterTune is not on an app store, so until now the only way to know a new version existed was to come and look at this page.
The app can now check GitHub for you and say when there is something newer. It is off until you switch it on, and it asks you during setup so you can decide once. There is a new Settings → Updates section where you can turn it on later, check right now, see which version you are on, and skip a version you do not want to be told about again.
It never installs anything by itself. It links you to the release page so you can read what changed first, and you install it yourself, the same way you always have.
This release is the first one it can find, so if you turn it on now, the next version will come to you.
Setup
The last page ("You're All Set!") had no way back, so if you wanted to change something you had just picked, you were stuck. It now has a Back button like every other page, and the arrow that used to float in the corner has moved into that bar as a Done button, so the bottom of the screen reads as one thing instead of two.
The update question on that page used to vanish once you had answered it, which made the page look broken if you went through setup again. It now shows your current setting so you can change it there.
If you tapped Skip on the first page, the app was meant to ask about updates afterwards and did not always do it. Fixed.
The sync fix, worth reading if you set the app up recently. The "Automatically sync with your YouTube Music account" switch during setup was wired to the wrong setting. Turning it off did nothing, your library synced anyway, and it quietly switched on lyric trimming instead. Have a look at Settings → Account and sync and check it is how you want it.
Settings
On tablets and other big screens the settings stretched the whole way across, so one switch could have its name at the far left and its toggle at the far right. Everything now sits in a centred column that is comfortable to read, and pop up lists like the country picker no longer span the whole screen.
Rows that only show you something, like the app version, no longer look like buttons. The "Advanced" sections open with the arrow turning rather than flipping, and they stay open when you rotate the screen. "Force tablet UI" now explains what it does instead of repeating its own name.
The About page said OuterTune. It says InterTune now.
Setup animations
Setup used to jump from one page straight to the next. The pages now slide and fade, and the progress bar slides along instead of teleporting. Each page keeps its own scroll position, so moving on no longer drops you halfway down a page you have not seen.
There is a wiki now
https://github.com/ItzSkyeYT/InterTune/wiki
It covers your music library, local files, downloads, volume and loudness, updates, tablets, and troubleshooting. The Wiki buttons in the app used to open OuterTune's wiki, which is a different project. They open this one now.
Behind the scenes
Fixed a problem in how the app describes its own database. Depending on how it was compiled it could disagree with the database already on your phone, which would stop it opening after an update. No released version was affected. It is fixed before it could reach one.
Install the APK below. If you already have InterTune, this installs over the top and keeps your library.
