DB Sync 13.8.0.0
DB Sync 13.8.0.0 uses the node 11.2.0 release. It reads the node's new nested (v2) config format, and moves logging onto the node's trace-dispatcher system.
Static binaries and docker images are now published for aarch64-linux.
This release also fixes a number of correctness issues. Upgrading is advised for all operators.
Breaking change: logging configuration
The iohk-monitoring keys (minSeverity, setupScribes, defaultScribes, setupBackends,
defaultBackends, options, rotation) are no longer read. Replace them with a TraceOptions
block, as in config/mainnet-config.yaml.
Upgrading
13.7.2.1 runs three startup migrations, all fast:
- migration-1-0016-20261028.sql — adds
guardto thescriptpurposetypeenum. - migration-2-0051-20260709.sql — removes duplicate
epoch_staterows, addsUNIQUE (epoch_no)#2155. - migration-2-0052-20261028.sql — repairs
epoch_param/param_proposalcollateral parameters wrapped by a signed 16-bit encoder.
13.7.3.0 (unreleased) is also supported and runs only 1-0016 and 2-0052.
13.7.1.X additionally runs the 13.7.2.1 epoch redesign migrations (2-0049, 2-0050), several minutes on mainnet; from 13.7.0.X, the 13.7.1.0 epoch repair (2-0048) runs before those, 5-15 minutes. No resync is required from any 13.7.X.
Ledger Snapshots
The new --ledger-only flag replays the chain through the ledger and writes ledger snapshots to
--state-dir without ever opening the database, so an up-to-date ledger snapshot can be prepared
ahead of an upgrade — see the docs.
Snapshots convert between InMemory and LSM with snapshot-converter — see snapshot docs.
The compatible snapshot-converter ships with node-11.2.0.

Notes
When running db-sync, enable only the data you actually need — see config docs.
Because epoch is a view that computes the current epoch on the fly, queries against it may be
~500ms slower on mainnet. If you don't need the in-progress epoch, query epoch_finalized directly.
