ProxyBridge for Windows 4.3.0
New
- Live Connections tab. See what is going through ProxyBridge right now: program, destination, which proxy server it goes to, which rule matched, and how much was sent and received. It shows real byte counts from the relay, updates live, and finished connections stay visible until you press "Clear closed".
- IPv4 CIDR in Target Hosts. You can now write
10.0.0.0/8or192.168.1.0/24next to single addresses, wildcards and ranges. - Up to 32 proxy servers (up from 16). Each rule can point at any of them.
- Applications picker (#196). Browse now accepts several folders at once, and a new "Add running process" picker lets you choose from programs that are running. The Applications field holds up to 8192 characters.
- Log Every Connection (#205). An option for the Connections log. Off (default): each program, destination, port and action is logged once. On: every new connection is logged.
Fixed
- The installer's "Run ProxyBridge now" started the app with administrator rights. It now starts it with your normal rights, as it should.
- HTTP proxy: a CONNECT request that did not fit its buffer could send leftover memory to the proxy. This is fixed.
- The CLI help text pointed to the wrong menu for exporting a profile, and Help > Documentation opened the wrong page. Both are corrected.
Tests
The Windows build now runs a large automated test suite on every change, including end-to-end tests with real traffic through real proxies: the installer, the service, rules, Live Connections counters and the uninstaller.
Known limitations
- A real file name containing
,or;is skipped by Browse and Running, and the warning says the list is "full", which is misleading. Use a wildcard in the rule as a workaround. - Programs ProxyBridge cannot open (protected system processes) are shown without a path. Their name still works in a rule.
