github Icinga/icingadb v1.6.0
Icinga DB v1.6.0

This Icinga DB release completes the Icinga Notifications integration.
Additionally, several bugs were fixed, including HA and history issues.

For the Icinga Notifications version 1.0.0 release, the integration was largely reworked.
State change events are now taken from the Icinga 2 runtime updates,
making the component HA aware and providing information about downtimes, flapping, and acknowledgements.
Furthermore, Icinga DB's Icinga Notifications configuration can now be set in Icinga DB Web,
and notifications sent by Icinga Notifications can be correlated with the Icinga DB history.
Next to HTTP, the transport to the Icinga Notifications API now supports HTTPS or Unix domain sockets.

Notable changes and fixes outside of Notifications include the following.

  • Allow reading passwords from files via password_file or *_PASSWORD_FILE environment variables. #1072
  • Close history of Comments and Downtimes for objects vanished from Icinga 2, e.g., after a Director deployment. #913
  • Drain runtime update streams on passive HA instances to prevent an ever-growing Redis®*. #1192
  • Keep HA alive for internal database deadline errors. #1138
  • Store floating point Icinga 2 attributes as such, fixing crashes with check intervals below one second. #1063
  • Retry more SQL queries, preventing crashes during a database restart. #1060
  • Only use Redis® keys in the icinga: and icingadb: namespaces and document Redis® ACLs. #1058, #1064

Detailed changes are available in the 1.6.0 milestone.

Requirements

Using Icinga DB as an Icinga Notifications source requires Icinga 2 v2.16.6 or later and Icinga Notifications v1.0.0 or later.
With an older Icinga 2 version, the Icinga Notifications integration is disabled.

More information is available in the upgrading documentation.
