v10.11.11.0 - Want to watch everywhere, and a lighter report

Thanks to David Rappo (@rappo) for #21, which brings the want-to-watch playlist into the home row, the item pages, and your viewing, and makes every plugin row work with a TV remote.

Want to watch (from @rappo in #21)

All three options are off by default and need "Want to watch: move arrived titles into a playlist" turned on.

  • Include owned titles in the home row. The row leads with what is already on your playlist, newest first, then the titles you are still missing.
  • Take titles off once watched. A watched movie or episode comes off the playlist, and a series comes off once every episode is played. It runs on the server, so it works from any client.
  • Bookmark button on movie and series pages, among the page's own buttons.
  • Plugin rows are reachable with a TV remote's D-pad, and a focused card grows like the stock cards do.

Web UI

  • Not interested (off by default): each user can hide a title from their own pages without hiding it for anyone else, administrators included, with a list to show hidden titles again.
  • A user with a parental rating limit sees the Web UI sections narrowed to the titles that limit allows, rather than none of them.
  • The home Discover row, the Want to watch row, and the movie and series page rows each have their own placement: off, top, bottom, or after one of Jellyfin's own sections. Existing settings carry over.

Gaps Report and settings

  • The toolbar is grouped by what each control acts on, every section, letter bucket, and group header has a select-all, and a line above the list says how many rows the filters hide. Add to TODO is now Add to watchlist.
  • A long section can be narrowed to two letters, the report is usable at phone width, and scan progress follows how long each stage took last time.
  • The settings page has collapsible sections, a search, a back-to-top button, and better screen reader support.

Gap sources

  • Prune gaps from deleted items, a new scheduled task. When a movie, series, collection, artist or author leaves your library, it stops being the source of a gap: a gap it was the only source of is removed, and one with other sources moves to the next. It has no default schedule, so run it from the scheduled tasks page or give it one. It waits for a running scan, and a second scan waits for the first instead of running alongside it.
  • Recommendation groups link to the owned title they came from.

Books and music ids, and links

  • Books get an OpenLibrary id field, and albums and artists a Discogs id field, in the metadata editor, with a link on the item's page, so a book or album the plugin could not match can be fixed by hand. A dedicated OpenLibrary or Discogs plugin takes over when installed.
  • A gap's links are built from its ids when the report loads rather than stored, so a TheTVDB, JustWatch or Trakt plugin installed later adds its links everywhere with no rescan. A Trakt link appears on movies and series when the Trakt sources are on.
  • Amazon search links leave out the year, which made most of them miss.

Performance

On a library with about 83,000 gaps: memory about 1.6 GB down to about 200 MB, disk 245 MB down to 131 MB, loading in about half the time, and the report written every couple of minutes during a scan or a where-to-watch lookup instead of every few seconds.

Upgrading

  • Your existing report converts on first load; nothing is lost.
  • A report saved by this version cannot be read by an earlier one. If you go back to an earlier version, the report shows empty until its next scan.
