A Snapcast client, your own Headscale, a darker baby monitor for the nursery, and steadier microphones on the Show 8 2nd gen.
- Snapcast (#406, thanks @Orestos): the device can join a Snapcast server as a client and play in step with the house's other Snapcast speakers. Set Snapcast server in Home Assistant and turn on Snapcast. Off until you turn it on. Use Snapcast or Sendspin on a device, not both.
- Your own Headscale: Tailscale can join a Headscale server you run, instead of Tailscale's. On the setup page, under Connections → Tailscale, type its address in Headscale server with a pre-auth key, or use the new
headscale_loginaction. Keep Headscale's default address ranges. See Your own Headscale. - Baby monitor light (#448, thanks @OptimalGrammar): Dimmest draws the listening dot in a dark amber at the screen's dimmest light, and Off shows nothing and keeps a dark screen dark. It's on the setup page with a warning, and in Home Assistant. It changes only the baby monitor's dot. The Baby monitor listening now sensor still reports listeners.
- Microphones on the Show 8 2nd gen (#446, thanks @dmit2k): longer capture buffers, so a busy moment no longer drops microphone sound.
- Bluetooth setup (#429, thanks @nuno407): Bluetooth setup works with newer BlueZ versions, for boards that have them.
- Faster screen drawing (#419, thanks @nuno407): clearing the screen takes about a third of the time it did, and copying a frame half.
- More boards (#416, thanks @nuno407): A/B updates on boards that boot with systemd-boot. Nothing changes on the Echos.
