Replies that start sooner, Spotify Connect quality, a Prefer 5 GHz switch, the Wi-Fi country on the Show 8 2nd gen, and faster touch on the Show 8 2nd gen.
- Reply delivery: Early (#430, thanks @miraassist): a third choice beside Whole file and Streamed. When the agent streams its answer, the device starts speaking after the first sentence instead of waiting for the whole reply. Best with long answers. Whole file stays the default.
- Spotify Connect quality and even volume (#428, thanks @nuno407): choose Normal, High or Very high quality on the setup page, and a switch that evens out the volume between songs. Nothing changes until you choose.
- Prefer 5 GHz (#432, thanks @abarbarich): a switch, on by default. Off, the Show stays on the band it joined instead of moving to a stronger 5 GHz radio, for meshes that steer devices themselves.
- Wi-Fi country on the Show 8 2nd gen: once it joins, it sets the Wi-Fi country the router announces (or the one its time zone names), so it finds 5 GHz networks faster and uses that country's full power. Before, it stayed on the world setting.
- Touch boost on the Show 8 2nd gen (#390, thanks @abarbarich): a touch holds the clocks up, and the screen's drawing moves to the fast cores while your finger is down, for smoother swipes. Both are switches in Home Assistant.
- Shutdown stops every process before unmounting (#414, thanks @nuno407), so storage is left clean.
- A reply player Home Assistant doesn't have now counts as not there, so replies play on the device instead of going nowhere.
- More boards (thanks @nuno407): the Wi-Fi interface, sound card, light sensor, power key, 16-bit microphones and the system's own ffmpeg are found where a board has them, plus hooks for boards outside this repo. Nothing changes on the Echos.
