Speak right after the wake word, to-do lists, a baby monitor, your own sounds, separate voice and call volumes, and big text for pop-ups.

  • Speak right after the wake word: with echo cancellation on, the microphones stay open while the wake sound plays, so "Alfred, what time is it?" in one breath works. Waiting for the sound and pausing before you ask still works too.
  • To-do and shopping lists: a To-do tab in the drawer shows Home Assistant's lists. Tap an item to mark it done, and the built-in assistant can add to and read them. Each device picks its own lists on the setup page.
  • Baby monitor: a private link plays the room's sound live in a phone's browser. Off until you turn it on in Privacy & Security. The screen shows when someone is listening, and the mute switch stops it.
  • Your own sounds: replace the volume, button, Bluetooth, listening-ended and Drop In sounds, one at a time or as a sound pack, on the setup page.
  • Voice volume and call volume: replies and announcements, and intercom and phone calls, can each sit a few steps above or below the music volume.
  • Replies on another speaker: the assistant's spoken replies can play on any Home Assistant media player, with the device's own speaker as the fallback.
  • Recent voice requests and a live log on the setup page: the last 10 turns, and the device's log as it's written.
  • Big text (#396, thanks @ablig77): pop-ups can be large or huge to read across a room, drawn cards honor a card's color, and a lone card fills the screen.
  • The night clock keeps Next up, chips and notifications (#397, thanks @ablig77), in the night colors, with a new switch.
  • Which calendars feed Next up (#395, thanks @ablig77) shows as sensors in Home Assistant.
  • Dashboard events and Next up within (#408, #409, thanks @alexalbella): the Dashboard clock style can show today only, and Next up can look 1, 3, 6 or 12 hours ahead.
  • Fans on drawn dashboards (#410, thanks @alexalbella): a long press opens speed, direction and preset modes, and sliding along the tile sets the speed.
  • Pair Bluetooth devices through the proxy (#398, thanks @dennymity), for things like Hue bulbs. The device's own phones and speakers can't be unpaired this way.
  • Immich slideshows leave out archived photos (#399, #400, thanks @rjlee).
  • Clearer speech: a switch that takes the bass down while replies play. Off by default.
  • Confirm wake and Nearest device answers say when they can't work (#411, #412, thanks @gurrier): a stale wake word ID or a missing house word now shows in the log and on the setup page.
  • Show 8 2nd gen: the ondemand CPU governor on the mainline kernel, for faster wake word frames at the same temperature (#413, thanks @nuno407).
  • Installers try a failed download again (#393, thanks @nfluester-lgtm) and say how much arrived.
  • Echo Settings dashboard: a tool in tools/ha that builds one Home Assistant dashboard for every TECHO5 device's settings.

Please open an issue if something doesn't work.
