Long answers page along with the voice, the glance chips can keep one size, and a second AirPlay sender can take over.
- Long answers page along with the voice (#333, thanks @doctorwho68): an Assist answer too long for the screen used to be cut off while the voice read all of it. Now it's shown a page at a time, turning as the voice reads it, on the Show and the Spot.
- Glance chip size (#332, thanks @willfanguy): a new setting, Automatic, Small or Tiny, keeps the chips under the clock at one size instead of switching as chips come and go. It's on the screen's clock settings and in Home Assistant (
select.<node>_screen_glance_chip_size). - A second AirPlay sender takes over (#334, thanks @iVolt1): playing to the device from another phone now replaces what's playing instead of being turned away.
- Night light never turns the screen up (#335, thanks @pavoni): in a dark room, the night light no longer makes the screen brighter than auto-brightness had it.
- Emptying the Music Assistant queue clears Now Playing (#150, thanks @SCHibbard): Now Playing and the strip go back to the clock once the queue is empty.
- Italian, checked (#310, thanks @angelor87): angelor87's wording, and the settings text that stayed in English now follows the language in all five languages.
- 2nd gen Show 8 decodes pictures faster (#337, thanks @nuno407): photos and pictures decode with libjpeg-turbo at reduced size.
- Groundwork for an A/B boot layer (#338, thanks @nuno407): the system side of an opt-in boot layer (#336). Nothing installs it yet, and devices without it are unchanged.
