What the daemon writes reaches flash within five seconds, so a power cut no longer takes the last minute of the log with it. The Echo Show 5 1st gen (checkers) runs this build: one binary tells the generations apart at run time and drives its speaker, microphones, mute and camera, with a kernel patch for the mute latch (docs/building.md; it needs a boot image built for it, attached here as techo5-boot-checkers-v0.7.6.img). The 2nd gen behaves as before. A kernel crash record now survives a restart. Includes v0.7.5.
