A New Web Player

Hound Web now leverages a new web player, which allows playing more codecs and containers on the web platform. You should be able to play .mkv files, with greater codec support (including H.265 and AC3 audio), and even HDR files.

This puts Hound Desktop in an awkward spot..

The desktop version of Hound's main purpose is to play videos which the browser can't handle, however with the new web player, this is now not necessary, and adds a lot of burden to the dev work and maintenance. Hound Desktop will continue to be maintained for now, but development focus will be on the web player, and the web player is now back to being the preferred method of watching content in Desktop platforms. Feedback would be really helpful regarding the new player.

Skip Intro

Skip intro and credits is now available, but is still under testing. Intro segments are sourced from https://theintrodb.org, but this may be changed for a different provider and other providers may be added in the future, depending on your feedback. You can only skip manually for now, no auto-skip is implemented yet.
