Hound Desktop (Windows, MacOS)
This release marks a major milestone, it introduces clients for Windows and MacOS (apple silicon) built on top of the web UI using electron. This functionally means the UI shares the same one as the familiar web portal.
The desktop versions use libmpv for playback, which means you can watch every codec compatible with mpv, which was a major limitation with the Hound web portal.
Binaries will be available soon, but they are currently unsigned. On Windows and especially MacOS, you will likely see a warning and may need to explicitly allow the app to run.
