Domain Monitor v1.1.6

Adds domain renewal alerts, watchlist notification groups for domains you want to acquire, SSL expiry reminders with their own schedule, an SSL widget on the dashboard, per-group alert switches, wildcard DNS handling and Cert Spotter as a second certificate transparency source. Expired domains stop alerting every day, reminders arrive on the right day, and refreshing a domain by hand now sends the same alerts as the cron jobs.

What's new

  • Domain Renewal Alerts - "Domain Renewed" when a WHOIS check finds the expiration date at least a month later for the same registration (#74)
  • Watchlist Notification Groups - For domains you want to acquire: lifecycle updates after expiry, approaching deletion, pending delete and available, worded for buying (#95)
  • Reminders After Expiry - An expired domain alerts once on its expiration date, then on chosen days after expiry (default 7, 14, 30) instead of every day (#95)
  • Alert Types per Group - Turn expiration, status change, DNS and SSL alerts on or off for each notification group (#88)
  • SSL Expiry Reminders - Own reminder days for certificates (default 14, 7, 3, 1), each sent once per certificate (#72)
  • SSL on the Dashboard - The certificates closest to expiry and status counts (#77)
  • SSL on the Domains List - Lock coloured by the worst certificate, bulk SSL monitoring, SSL monitoring for new domains and readable SSL errors
  • Wildcard DNS - Wildcard zones are detected, hosts that only answer through the wildcard are dropped and the wildcard is listed as * (#76)
  • Cert Spotter - Second certificate transparency source next to crt.sh, with an optional API key; a rate-limited source is skipped for the rest of the run (#100)
  • DNS Record Management - Add, delete and bulk delete records, import BIND zone files, Quick Scan and background Deep Scan
  • Manual Refresh Alerts - Refreshing WHOIS, DNS or SSL by hand sends the same alerts as the cron jobs
  • Fixes - Reminders no longer arrive a day early; reminders for expiration dates set by hand and when WHOIS fails; updater backup under open_basedir (#73); login with a custom DB_PORT; WHOIS failure reasons (#46, #90); .com.br and second-level ccTLDs (#91); DNS lookups, IP details and imported SOA records (#97, #98, #99, #107); .sk expiration dates (#105)
  • Security - Session ID regenerated on login and 2FA, CSRF checks on install and update, safer templates, open redirect and isolation checks
  • Migrations: 029_add_dns_record_source.sql, 030_add_ssl_reminders_and_group_alert_types.sql, 031_add_ct_log_sources.sql, 032_add_renewal_notifications.sql, 033_add_watchlist_groups.sql

Upgrading from 1.1.5

  • After updating the files (in-app updater or manually), open /install/update to run the migrations
  • Reminders go out one day later than in 1.1.5 ("expires in 7 days" is now sent 7 days before, not 8), and days left is one higher everywhere
  • Expired domains alert once, then on Settings → Monitoring → Reminders After Expiry; leave it empty for no reminders after expiry
  • Domains with an expiration date set by hand, and domains whose WHOIS lookup fails, now get expiry reminders
  • SSL "Expiring Soon" starts at the largest SSL reminder day (14 by default) instead of 30
  • The new "Renewed" alert is on; turn it off under Settings → Monitoring → Status Change Notifications
  • The first DNS refresh of a wildcard zone drops the subdomains that only answered through the wildcard, and lists the wildcard once as an added record
  • DNS Deep Scans also ask Cert Spotter (SSLMate); turn it off or add an API key under Settings → Monitoring → DNS Discovery
