github HA-Pulse/home-assistant-global-health-score v2.4.0b1

pre-release3 hours ago

Hey there! Thanks for using HAGHS, i really appreciate it 👍
☕ Do you enjoy it? If you've ever gotten value from HAGHS, buying me a coffee is the nicest way to say so ❤️ buy me a coffee, it keeps the project and me going 😉 Thank you!

This is a pre-release of v2.4.0 for testing. HACS only offers pre-releases to users
who enable beta versions for the HAGHS repository. It also contains the fixes that
were collected in the v2.3.1 changelog (#103, #99, #98, #85).

Behavior Changes

  • Repairs now affect the application score (#97): every open repair issue costs
5 points, capped at 10, and the application score is capped at 99 while any repair
is open. Repairs raised by HAGHS itself are excluded. Home Assistant's native
Ignore action takes a repair out of the score.
  • Zombie grace default shortened from 15 to 5 minutes: zombies are now detected
after 5 minutes, also on existing installations that never configured a custom
value. If you prefer the old window, set the zombie grace period to 15 minutes in
    the integration options.
  • Setup now stops with a repair when PSI is missing and fallback sensors are not
    set (#123):
previously, missing CPU/RAM values were treated as 0 %
load, so they never lowered the score. Now setup stops with the fallback_missing
repair until both sensors are configured. This also applies when only one of the
    two sensors is set.
  • Unregistered entities are informational only (#98): entities without an
entity-registry entry no longer count as zombies, so the application score can rise
    on instances with such entities.

What's New

Every missing score point is explained (#92)

The application pillar now reports config_audit_bonus and
integration_unhealthy_count, and two new recommendation flags
(rec_integration_health, rec_config_audit) tell you where the missing points are.

Dead devices are flagged (#120)

If all entities of a device are unavailable or unknown past the grace window, the
device is listed in dead_devices (with dead_device_count and the rec_dead_devices
flag). Informational only: the entity-level zombie scoring stays authoritative, so
nothing is counted twice.

Recommendation texts are translatable (#114)

All recommendation templates now go through Home Assistant's translation system, in
your configured language, with English as the fallback.

Bug Fixes

  • Total safety net in the coordinator (#103). A failure in the recommendations or
rec-flags sub-components could stall the update cycle; now the sensor always keeps
updating, with a full traceback in the log and the last valid result kept.
  • Correct label service names (#99). The README example and the UI texts now use
    homeassistant.add_label_to_entity and homeassistant.remove_label_from_entity.

Documentation and Infrastructure

  • Manual smoke-test guide for live instances in tests/README.md (#85).
  • Per-pillar test coverage for the hardware and application pillars (#107); CI runs on
    Python 3.14 with coverage gates (package 90 %, coordinator.py 80 %) (#117, #128).
    The suite holds 257 tests.

Please Test

Focus areas for this beta:

  • Repair issues: effect on the score, the rec_repairs flag and the repairs attribute.
  • Zombie detection with the new 5-minute default grace period.
  • Instances with YAML template sensors or other entities without a registry entry.
  • Recommendation texts in your language.
  • Dead device detection on instances with sleeping devices.
