Editor::remove_if_leaf()During tree merges, a deleted or renamed file may already have been
replaced by a directory.remove()would delete that subtree, while
remove_leaf()deliberately rejects tree targets. Callers need to leave
the directory intact without treating this expected case as an error.Add conditional leaf removal that succeeds without changes for tree
targets and missing paths. Keepremove_leaf()strict and propagate
validation and object-loading errors rather than making callers classify
or suppress them.
