Fixes installs on Android 14 and older (#3). There, every install ended with "not installed — the install was cancelled or refused", and Show details showed:
InstallStart: Requesting uid 2000 needs to declare permission android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES
What changed
- Works on Android 14 and older. Those versions' package installer refuses an install started directly by the shell (Shizuku). UnknownAuto now has Shizuku start the installer on its behalf, so the install goes through and keeps the Google Play mark.
- On those versions UnknownAuto needs the install unknown apps permission for this. The first time you tap Install it opens that setting: allow it, go back and tap Install again.
- Android 15 and newer work as before.
Install / update
Download UnknownAuto-1.2.apk below and open it. It updates 1.0 and 1.1 in place (same signing key). Keep Shizuku running.
If Play Protect asks to scan the app you're installing, choose More details → Install without scanning.
Android 8.0+ (minSdk 26). The APK is self-signed, so Android will warn it's from an unknown source. That's expected for a sideloaded tool.
