v2.5.0 (2026-07-19)
Semantic Context Infrastructure
- Promoted project-level
CONTEXT.mdfrom an optional glossary into a stable,
bounded semantic context surface for canonical terms, aliases, distinctions,
and authority references. - Split context handling into cheap passive consumption and explicitly owned
active modeling, so ordinary work can reuse established language without
loading a separate modeling workflow. - Added evidence grades and fact-versus-decision authority rules: agents may
record high-confidence resolved facts directly, while unresolved product or
architecture decisions still require clarification. - Added a compact root context baseline for
Aegis Method Pack,Host Adapter,
Runtime Core, andruntime-ready artifactwithout moving runtime authority
into the method pack.
Reliability And Workflow Integration
- Integrated semantic context as a thin input to planning, brainstorming,
debugging, review, continuation, and verification workflows while retaining
establishing-project-contextas the single active-modeling owner. - Required byte-stable no-op behavior, lazy first creation, pre-write readback,
concurrent-edit protection, safe path resolution, legacy table readability,
and instruction-like content isolation. - Added trigger-health coverage that distinguishes passive reuse, resolved
semantic changes, and tiny-task false positives. - Documented stable semantic prefixes as a cache opportunity rather than a
provider-independent cache-hit or token-savings guarantee.
Verification
- Added a 15-case deterministic semantic-context matrix and wired it into the
Layer 1 release gate. - Added an opt-in, temporary-project live runner with checkout/installed source
modes, installed-skill fingerprint protection, and no host-configuration
mutation. - Extended Codex smoke-log parsing to recognize direct POSIX
sedskill reads
while retaining the existing PowerShell coverage and transcript-noise guards. - Representative Codex checkout runs passed first resolved-fact creation,
byte-stable no-op handling, and passive context consumption. The installed
old-skill fingerprint was rejected as stale by design; Claude CLI live
coverage remains environment-bound and was not claimed. - Fresh
bash tests/e2e/run-all.sh --full --host-profile fastverification
passed all four suites. Layer 1 passed40/40, including representative
Codex automatic and explicit skill-loading smoke, OpenCode base coverage,
and Codex plugin-sync regression; Layer 2 and Layer 3 each passed6/6.
Release Surface
- Bumped all declared package and host manifest versions from
2.4.7to
2.5.0. - This release remains
Aegis Method Pack (runtime-ready), preserves
multi-host plugin-installable distribution, and does not add authoritative
GateDecision,PolicySnapshot, or completion authority.
