Grok Build Host Support
- Added a dedicated Grok Build installation and verification guide covering
native$GROK_HOME/skillsdiscovery,[skills] pathsconfiguration, and
Claude-compatible plugin discovery. - Added updater defaults for the
grokandgrok-buildhost aliases. The
updater now exposes Aegis skills as generated direct-child entries under
$GROK_HOME/skillsor~/.grok/skillswhile keeping the method-pack
checkout as the canonical source. - Documented that native skills, extra skill paths, shared Agent Skills, and
Claude-compatible plugins are alternative exposure routes. Enabling more
than one route can create duplicate Aegis skill names with different
freshness.
Compatibility And Regression Coverage
- Added a Grok Build host-boundary check and included it in the Layer 1 release
verification path. - Added updater regression tests for Grok-native discovery defaults,
GROK_HOME, host aliases, direct-child registration, and legacy registry
normalization. - Hardened Codex smoke-log parsing so one PowerShell command that reads
multipleSKILL.mdfiles records every loaded skill instead of only the
first path. - Updated the compatibility snapshot, known limitations, release checklist,
root documentation, and testing guide to include the Grok Build surface. - Preserved the Aegis Method Pack boundary: Grok owns host discovery, native
routing, plugins, permissions, sessions, and reload behavior; Aegis does not
provide authoritativeGateDecision,PolicySnapshot, or completion
authority.
Verification
- Fresh checks passed:
bash scripts/bump-version.sh 2.4.1,
bash scripts/bump-version.sh --check,
bash tests/e2e/run-all.sh --full --host-profile fast,
bash tests/e2e/grok-build-host-boundary-check.sh,
python tests/helpers/test_aegis_update.py -k grok,
python tests/helpers/test_parse_codex_skills.py,
grok plugin validate ., and
git diff --check. - The full fast profile passed after using the documented
CODEX_CMDoverride
with a working local Codex executable and bypassing a missing local Windows
sandbox helper. The initial failures were environment-bound CLI launch and
sandbox errors, not Aegis workflow regressions. - Local Grok Build
0.2.93headless smoke passed both an explicit
using-aegisroute and an automatic debugging route. The current local
profile also exposed Aegis through both shared Agent Skills and an older
Claude plugin cache, so this release records structural and representative
live-smoke evidence without claiming clean-install or release-level Grok
closeout.
Release Surface
- Bumped all declared package and host manifest versions from
2.4.0to
2.4.1. - This release remains
Aegis Method Pack (runtime-ready)and preserves
plugin-installable distribution without claiming full-platform or full-host
production rollout readiness.
