One Canonical Aegis Body Across Hosts
- Clarified and strengthened the cross-host rule that Aegis should keep one
canonicalmethod_pack_root, while host-facing discovery directories,
plugin caches, copied skills trees, and compatibility exposures are treated
as generated or host-managed views into that same body. - Extended the shared updater and host docs so new host registrations prefer
the configured~/.config/aegis/config.tomlmethod_pack_rootinstead of
silently creating another editable checkout per host.
Shared-Root Updater Reuse Across Host Registrations
- Extended
scripts/aegis-update.pyto read the shared local Aegis config and
usemethod_pack_rootas the default registration target when available. - Added shared-root update reuse so multiple registered hosts that point at the
same method-pack checkout update that checkout once, then refresh each
host-specific discovery or verification surface separately. - Preserved host-level differences such as
discoveryRoot,discoveryShape,
reloadHint, and adapter ownership without turning them into a second source
of truth.
OpenCode Canonical-Root Preference And Mirror Hygiene
- Updated the OpenCode plugin so it prefers the configured canonical
method_pack_rootwhen generating the OpenCode-visible skills tree. - Added mirror-manifest tracking so stale mirrored skill targets can be
refreshed or pruned instead of being silently treated as current. - Kept the OpenCode-visible
~/.config/opencode/skills/tree as a generated
compatibility view while retainingconfig.skills.pathsonly as a fallback
exposure layer.
Cross-Host Installation Guidance Expansion
- Updated Codex, OpenCode, Claude Code, Pi, and Antigravity docs so they all
describe the same stable model: one canonical Aegis body, different
host-appropriate exposure shapes. - Updated the host compatibility snapshot and known limitations docs so the
canonical-root / generated-view model is release-visible and does not stay
hidden in session-only reasoning. - Updated the
update-aegisskill guidance so host maintenance keeps the
canonical root and host view boundaries explicit.
Regression Coverage For Shared-Root Behavior
- Added updater tests for config-driven default root selection and shared-root
reuse across multiple host registrations. - Extended the OpenCode plugin-loading coverage so the configured canonical
method-pack root must win over the bundled plugin checkout when both exist.
