v1.8.0 (2026-05-26)
Host-Scoped Aegis Updates
- Added
aegis:updateas an explicit user-triggered update workflow for
installed Aegis method packs. - Added
scripts/aegis-update.pywith host-scoped installation registration,
status readback, dry-run support, and explicit--allhandling for users who
want to update every registered host. - Preserved predictable multi-host behavior: a plain update targets the current
or explicitly selected host, while all-host updates require an explicit
request. - Kept automatic background updates out of the default path. The registry can
recordupdateMode, but the method pack does not become a daemon, runtime
core, or final update authority.
Install And Documentation Updates
- Added an
update-aegisskill that routesaegis:updaterequests through the
host-scoped registry rather than re-discovering every install from scratch. - Updated Codex install guidance to register the Codex host, verify the
discovery root, and update throughaegis-update.py update --host codex. - Updated the root READMEs, compatibility snapshot, and known limitations to
describe the new explicit update behavior and its multi-host boundary. - Refreshed Cursor and Windsurf skill counts and skill tables so their install
guides match the current method-pack skill set.
