Highlights
Aegis v1.6.6 strengthens the method pack around clearer onboarding, broader structural host coverage, complexity-aware workflow discipline, and more stable repair judgment.
README and install guidance
- Streamlined the English and Chinese root READMEs into compact user-facing entry points.
- Reframed Aegis as a baseline-first, evidence-driven method-pack upgrade for AI coding agents.
- Replaced separate minimal install and update prompts with one install-or-update prompt that asks the agent to detect the current host, install or update Aegis, reload when needed, and verify from the installed method-pack root.
- Moved optional lite global rules into dedicated English and Chinese files.
Host compatibility
- Added structural host guidance for OpenClaw and Hermes Agent.
- Documented individual
SKILL.mdskill-directory install paths, update steps, doctor verification, activation-mode caveats, and authority-boundary reminders. - Updated the compatibility matrix, known limitations, release checklist, prompt-hygiene boundary, current docs index, and README host lists.
- Added
popular-agent-host-boundary-check.shto keep OpenClaw and Hermes Agent support structural until fresh release-level host smoke exists.
Complexity and repair discipline
- Expanded complexity governance into a three-stage advisory flow:
Plan-Time Complexity Check,Pre-Edit Complexity Check, and completion-timeComplexity Governance Suggestion. - Updated planning, debugging, TDD, execution, and completion skills so agents can choose safer owner/file boundaries before editing code and report useful follow-up recommendations after the diff exists.
- Tightened
Minimal Necessary ChangeintoMinimal Sufficient Stable Repair: the smallest acceptable repair is the smallest sufficient fix at the correct owner and abstraction layer, not the smallest textual diff. - Added a
Minimality Checkfor fallback, guard, adapter, special-case, or duplicate-owner repairs so local patches remain bounded mitigations with retention reasons and retirement triggers.
Workflow quality coverage
- Added representative workflow-quality samples for plan-time complexity, pre-edit complexity, completion-time governance suggestions, and minimal sufficient repair.
- Extended e2e checks for workflow-quality contracts, first-principles repair classification, debugging patch-shape gates, install verification policy, activation-mode host caveats, and goal-framing host documentation coverage.
- Preserved the method-pack boundary: these are advisory workflow disciplines only and do not grant authoritative
GateDecision,PolicySnapshot, publish approval, or completion authority.
