What's New
- Welcome Setup: Added a new first-run welcome screen with a quick app overview, theme mode selection, color scheme selection, and default description source setup.
- Replay Welcome Screen: Added a Debug setting to show the welcome screen again.
- 3D Model Fallback: If PubChem does not provide a 3D model, ChemSearch now tries to load a backup generated 3D model from available identifiers like SMILES, InChI, or InChIKey.
- Generated 3D Model Label: Backup 3D models are clearly marked as generated estimates.
- Improved AI Provider Setup: AI provider configuration is now easier to access when AI descriptions are selected and the AI provider selection window has cleaner spacing, clearer outlines, and better selected-provider handling.
Improvements & Fixes
- Long chemical formulas now wrap cleanly instead of being cut off.
- The Find isomers button stays beside the formula when there is enough space, and only moves below when needed.
- Fixed formula/pill alignment so the Find isomers button sits properly beside short formulas.
- Fixed generated 3D fallback showing the wrong molecule for some elements, such as calcium being shown as CaH₂.
- Generated 3D models are now checked against the compound formula before being shown.
- 3D viewer colors now follow the selected app color scheme instead of using a fixed background.
- Improved missing 3D model explanations for metals, salts, ionic compounds, large molecules, and crystal-like structures.
Technical Changes
- Added backup SDF loading for compounds missing PubChem 3D data.
- Added formula validation for generated SDF models.
- Added 3D model source tracking for PubChem models vs generated estimates.
- Improved 3D viewer theming with app color scheme support.
- Added cross-platform project setup files for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Added safer Git line-ending handling with
.gitattributes. - Added release signing template files and improved ignored signing/build artifacts.
