FrogPilot v0.9.7 – October 31st, 2026 Update
I said the July 4th update was the last v0.9.7 update, but there was still too much on the shelf. This update brings a clearer data-sharing choice, on-device speed limit sign reading, and major rewrites to “Curve Speed Controller” and “The Pond.”
In this update
- “Acceleration Profile” was retuned. “Eco” is gentler when pulling away and livelier at highway speeds, while “Standard” returns to stock openpilot.
- “Capture Recent Footage” saves recent driving-screen video, and the rebuilt “Screen Recorder” records at the screen’s frame rate.
- “Conditional Experimental Mode” was rebuilt with updated lead and stop detection.
- “Curve Speed Controller” was rebuilt with a new “Curve Speed Profile”, adding “Gentle”, “Standard”, and “Sport” alongside “Adaptive”.
- “Deceleration Profile” was rebuilt around stock openpilot’s normal cruise braking. It slows more gently for a lower set speed or speed limit when no car is ahead. With the default “Eco” profile, full braking for a lead car is available as soon as it is detected.
- Driving, stability, vehicle support, and visuals received many fixes and refinements.
- “Help Improve FrogPilot?” explains data sharing and waits for a choice before driving logs, learned speed limits, and usage stats upload.
- “Speed Limit Filler” can now use the on-device camera reader to learn and apply corrections where downloaded maps have no speed limit or the wrong one.
- “The Pond” was rewritten with optional pairing codes and improvements to route, recording, and theme tools.
