BreakFree is back with v1.4! Now that the bugs and errors have been moved out of the way, it is time to bring new changes! The changes mainly focus on getting the shortcut ready for big features in the future. With this update, the shortcut is now much simpler, safer, and requires much less work on the user’s end. Some mistakes have been fixed as well.

Big changes

New Checkpoint: Checkpoint 1 - Certificates

• Added a new checkpoint!
• In this checkpoint, the shortcut downloads and extracts the certificates.zip file
• This was previously in checkpoint 5, but I moved it here and made it automated to simplify the process
• Consequently, every checkpoint has been moved forward by 1

Checkpoint 5 - Completely New

Checkpoint 5 (the Signer installation) has been redesigned from scratch

• 🆕 New app: Portal!
  • A new app which is so much simpler to install than any other!
  • The best option for new sideloaders, so many less steps required
• ✅ Optimizations: Feather
  • Much more optimized for the user. Less steps and much more concise
• ⚠️ Removal: E-Sign
  • The app has been discontinued by its dev and WSF, and because of that it has been removed as an option from BreakFree
  • If you use it currently, I would personally recommend you to uninstall it and redo the process

Checkpoint 6: New App!

• The 6th checkpoint (the source adder) now supports the app “Portal”.
• Now, you can add more than 69 app repos to the Portal app, letting you download and install from a huge library of apps, without using any browser or ever leaving the Portal app.
• This took way too long to make, it’s actually one of the main reasons this update took so long :P

Improvements

• Checkpoint 0: HUGE optimization
  • The DNS has been remade from scratch after analyzing more carefully apple’s URLs to track users.
  • Therefore the DNS now is much more protective
  • Furthermore, some tweaks have been made to optimize internet speed and battery life
• Made the changelog a bit more appealing

Smaller tweaks

• Optimized check for updates and the link it gives if there is an update
  • Optimized check for updates quite a lot, should be the very last time you see this in the changelog if everything goes smooth
• Removed certificates.zip from checkpoint 5 (which used to be 4) due to it now being in the new checkpoint 1
• Patched some “OK” buttons not working properly
