3.8.8 – Five issues before breakfast

I woke up to five new issues, all from @snkiz, who builds FoxMica, a Windows 11 Mica theme on top of FoxOne. One of them asked for a variable and turned out to be a bug nobody had reported: FoxOne had never been tested with Firefox's density setting under Nova.

Fixed

• At compact and touch density the hamburger and puzzle button sat off centre, and at touch the URL dropdown's top edge was shifted down. FoxOne assumed a fixed 44px row, but Firefox makes it 36px at compact and 53px at touch. The row height is now read from Firefox. (#57, @snkiz)
• Firefox View followed Firefox's own colours instead of the palette: grey-violet page and cards, cyan links. It now matches the other about: pages. (#53, @snkiz)
• With vertical tabs, the tab strip turned violet whenever the window lost focus. It now stays on the palette.
• With vertical tabs, the puzzle button sat a pixel above the bookmark star next to it.

Changed

• The "match diacritics" label in the find bar is written as a CSS escape, so a file opened with the wrong encoding can't garble it. (#56, @snkiz)

Notes

• Both files changed. Copy the new userContent.css into your profile's chrome folder, then restart Firefox.
