latest releases: 3.4.5, 3.4.4

Firefox 153 ships tomorrow (21st July), and with it the pixel that has been sitting in my calendar for a month. Also: the release candidate quietly fixed things FoxOne was busy compensating for.

Fixed

  • The reveal icons (reader mode, translations, add-on page actions) sat 1px too tight in Firefox 153. The fix was known since June but deliberately parked: one padding value can only serve one channel, and 152 deserved its last perfect month. 153 is also the new ESR base, so the 7px go in globally - no version split, no brittle hooks.
  • The trust icon sat visibly too low. The Nova betas rendered it up to 3px too high (5px in the expanded urlbar), and FoxOne carried counter-nudges sized to exactly that. The 153b12 Release fixed the native offset - which turned the correction into the bug. The nudges are recalibrated to net zero, and the separate breakout-state rule (issue #31) is retired entirely: Firefox now renders rest and focus identically on its own.
  • The extensions (puzzle) button sat 1px too high in the nav-bar. Nudged.

Notes

  • Shorter release notes this time.
