Nova ships a violet default accent (#d4c1ff and friends), and it was leaking into FoxOne's chrome from every direction: the tracking-protection toggle, panel links, the extension gear buttons, even the "Firefox is watching" info card. This release removes it at the source instead of chasing it element by element.
Fixed
- New "NOVA VIOLET PURGE" block: with Nova enabled, Firefox maps the semantic accent family (
--color-accent-primary,-hover,-active,-selected) to its violet palette, and links, focus rings, toggles, primary buttons and selected borders all derive from those four tokens. FoxOne now pins them to--uc-color-accent, which recolours all of it at once - protections-panel toggle, "Privacy settings" link, permission chips. - A handful of Nova tokens reference the violet palette directly, past the accent family, those are repointed individually: the info-message card background, info icons, generic chrome-button hover/active blocks, the base chrome text (which had drifted to a lilac-tinted white), and the violet-leading toolbox gradient.
- The gear buttons in the extensions panel showed a violet block on hover instead of FoxOne's accent treatment. Toolkit defines their
--uei-button-*tokens at:root, so they resolved against Nova's design tokens before FoxOne's panel-scoped overrides could apply. The tokens are now re-declared on the button itself: no background block, amber icon, like every other panel row.
Removed
- The gradient separator under the account/profiles section in the app menu (the "proton-zap") is retired. Its line is a gradient
border-image, which beats any colour override. Killing the image removes the line entirely, and recolouring attempts never produced a visible replacement. No line beats a violet gradient in a Gruvbox menu.
Notes
about:blankstays at Firefox's #1C1B22: the dark content canvas is a compile-time constant (kWindowBackground,nsXPLookAndFeel.cpp) that no pref or CSS reaches without forcing colours onto every website. Documented as a dead end.
