[1.262.1] — 2026-10-29

The Italian-evaluation patch: it joins the token-dense locales (32768-token ceiling + 480 s clock) after the OpenRouter era caught it cutting the report right before the SCORE_SUMMARY block — and the provider switch tooling that made the diagnosis possible ships in the deploy workflow.

Fixed

• it evaluation cut before SCORE_SUMMARY (CAR-190 tail): remote-QA 40928864980 (first run on the refilled credits) — an it evaluation ran 264 s and came back 15 045 characters with tok ~15635 at the 16 384 ceiling: Block A–G intact, ---SCORE_SUMMARY--- gone. The same shape class that earned ta its ceiling in v1.261.1 (CAR-174). it joins TOKEN_DENSE_EVAL_LOCALES (ta, hi → ta, hi, it): both the 32 768-token budget and the 480 s clock now apply, and /api/evaluate + auto-pipeline stay on the one source of truth in llm.mjs.
• en no-blocks report — one-off generation flake: the same run saw a single en evaluation come back language-correct with none of the A–G blocks; a targeted re-run passed clean (21 091 characters, A–G ✓). Not added to the token-dense set — one flake is not a history.

Added

• Deploy workflow: mode=hermes and mode=provider (CAR-190 ops tail): mode=hermes restarts the Hermes gateway and prints a full diagnosis (unit file with secrets stripped, listeners before/after, sudo journal, per-port probes, the app's own HERMES_BASE_URL view, OpenRouter credits balance); mode=provider switches LLM_PROVIDER with a key-presence guard (refuses when the target provider's *_API_KEY is absent) and restarts the app — this is how prod moved to openrouter when the Hermes credits ran out mid-flight. The deploy-mode ref guard is validated for mode=deploy only, so recon/verify dispatches work again (the v1.261.3-era required-inputs change had silenced them).

Notes

• Deliberate non-action: en is not added to the token-dense set — one blockless report is a generation flake, not a volume history.
• Deliberate non-action: the ta reinforced-language directive is not extended to it — no language drift was observed for Italian.
• Deliberate non-action: recording the new UI-v2 demo video stays with the owner (CAR-141) — the landing now embeds via youtube-nocookie.com regardless.
• Tests 6841 → 6841 on the release branch.
