github Fathom-Media/fathom v0.11.0-dev02

pre-release4 hours ago

Dev build from the dev branch (heading toward 0.11.0). Not a stable release.

Changes since v0.11.0-dev01:

  • Android Auto: New audio-only Android Auto support. Browse your Jellyfin music, internet radio, and YouTube in tabs, search (including by voice) to play a song or playlist, and control playback, shuffle, repeat, favorites, and the up-next queue from the car's screen.
  • Up Next: Episodes that have a next episode now show an Up Next prompt over the credits instead of a plain Skip Credits button, so it takes you to the next episode rather than to the end of the file. Choose a poster Card or a compact Netflix-style Pill under Settings > Playback, set how long it stays before auto-skipping (the whole credits, or a short countdown of 30, 20, 15, 10, or 5 seconds), and Autoplay Next Episode decides whether it counts down on its own or just waits for you to press Play Now.
  • Skip Buttons: Skip Intro and Skip Credits now appear reliably (the app asks the server for segment types), "Previously On" recaps get their own Skip Recap button separate from Skip Intro, and the skip and Up Next prompts fade in instead of popping.
  • Plugins: Plugin configuration is now an in-app form with real toggles, number and text fields, and add/remove lists instead of a raw JSON blob, with an Edit as JSON switch if you prefer the raw view. Plugin logos also appear in the plugins list and on the plugin page.
  • YouTube: On Android TV, Shorts are shown as a 9:16 column with a blurred backdrop instead of being stretched widescreen, and the lighter right-edge strip is gone. The TV player gains a YouTube actions sheet (Subscribe, Add to Playlist, open Channel), YouTube audio uses higher-resolution artwork, and the Listen queue no longer gets stuck when a track fails to open.
  • Audio: New audio passthrough setting to bitstream Atmos, Dolby Digital, and DTS to a receiver on the desktop player, and your last volume is restored when playback hands off between the player and background audio.
  • Android TV: The skip buttons and the new Up Next prompt work on the TV player, with D-pad focus and larger sizing for the 10-foot view, plus focus rings added across more screens.
  • Android (ExoPlayer): 4:3 video is no longer stretched to fill a 16:9 screen (it pillarboxes now, matching the desktop player), and seeking near the end of an episode no longer jumps you to the next one.
  • Casting: The cast button now fades away with the rest of the player controls instead of floating over the video after they hide.
  • Now Playing: Switching from YouTube audio to internet radio or music now updates the OS media controls and Android Auto with the correct title, artwork, and time instead of keeping the previous YouTube track's info.

Tester build, report anything odd. The in-app updater's Dev channel will offer future dev builds automatically.
