Sessions
- Unnamed sessions now show a preview of their first user message instead of a timestamp, in Recent Sessions, the Sessions view, and the Timeline. An explicit name still wins; sessions with neither fall back to the timestamp. (#47)
- The Timeline previously labeled every session with its working-directory path — on Windows the entire path, on Linux/macOS the same folder name for every session in a project. Nodes now use the session name or first-message preview.
- Hovering a session row shows its full title, so a preview longer than the sidebar stays readable.
- Nested subagent runs no longer flood Recent Sessions.
Home and Chat (#44)
- The empty chat is now a centered prompt with suggested actions and a project picker; the separate Minimal home layout is gone.
- Recent Sessions in the sidebar are grouped by workspace into collapsible sections.
- The sidebar is resizable (drag the right edge); the width persists across restarts.
- Slash-command palette and model picker on the empty-chat composer.
- Compact live strip on the composer while subagents run.
- The file-tree side pane can now actually be widened; it was stuck at its default width.
Performance (#48)
- Boot and session switching no longer freeze the UI: session history is trimmed before crossing to the renderer, and session files are read with small bounded reads instead of loading whole multi-megabyte logs.
- The Timeline reads only what it needs from each session and caches results, so reopening it is near-instant.
Fixes
- Windows: Pi subagents get a writable TEMP directory, fixing EPERM failures mid-task.
- Linux: the AppImage no longer shows a license prompt on first run, and the desktop entry matches the app id so taskbar grouping and the icon behave.
Known issues
- If Pi needs a tool-permission decision while you are in a different workspace, the prompt does not reach the window and that turn stops making progress. Switching back does not recover it, so the turn has to be stopped. Avoid switching workspace while a session is mid-task. A fix is in progress.
