0.7.0 — 20 September 2026
The first stable release. Two new shelves, a homescreen you can put your own wallpaper behind, a
context menu on every shortcut — and the text fields finally keep what you type into them.
Two new shelves
- Android Games and Windows sit on the home shelf next to the consoles. They are curated
libraries rather than scanned folders: you add entries from what is installed, and a Windows game
running under GameNative or GameHub is an ordinary Android launcher entry, so it launches through
exactly the same path everything else does.
Your own homescreen
- Pick any image or animated GIF as the home background. Settings → Appearance → Background →
Custom. A GIF animates natively — no second image stack, nothing copied to app storage, and the
file stays where you put it. - The shelf moves quicker. The background crossfade and the tile transitions were cut from 420ms
to 160ms, and the focus animation from 260ms to 140ms. Nothing was removed; it just stopped
waiting. - The dock no longer steals a row of tiles. It reserved a full 48dp as though it were a second
header, which pushed large tiles up into the KONSORU wordmark. It is an auxiliary strip and is now
sized like one. - New UI sounds for navigation, selection, menus and back.
A context menu on every shortcut
- North/Y on a tile opens its menu — on a game and on a platform alike. Launch, Edit, and (on a
game) the system's own options, all in one place, because a shortcut's "everything you can do with
this" was spread across buttons that had run out of room. - "Launch ▸ Top screen / Bottom screen" is a one-off: it opens the game there without changing
what the next plain A-press does. - West/X still goes straight to the options popup. Nothing that worked before needs relearning.
Emulators
- Eden DS is selectable for Nintendo Switch — the dual-screen Eden fork
(github.com/JoeCorrell/Eden-DS), which puts the game on the main display and a touch UI on the
lower one. Both of its package names are recognised, because the APK it publishes and a self-built
release of the same flavour install under different ones. It is an explicit choice rather than a
new default: pick it in a system's options → Emulator, or per game. - "Automatic" now really means the first installed emulator. It checked only whether the FIRST
entry in a platform's list was installed and otherwise fell through to RetroArch — so a Switch
user with Eden but not Eden Nightly was told no emulator was set up at all, with a working one
sitting right there. Every platform whose list leads with a build most people don't have was
affected the same way.
Which screen a game opens on
- A game can be pinned to either screen, per platform (its options → Emulator → Screen) or per
game, the game winning. Reported for PSP, which was opening on the lower screen with no way to say
otherwise. With no second screen attached, "bottom" falls back to the main one rather than failing
to launch.
Fixed
- The on-screen keyboard no longer looks like it has a length limit. Its preview line split the
text into two halves sharing the row by weight, so each half was capped at half the width and
everything past roughly twenty-five characters vanished as you typed. Reported against a
32-character SteamGridDB key. It is now one wrapping line and shows a long key whole. - Confirming the keyboard now saves what you typed. The value used to land in the field and wait
for a Save button nobody had a reason to look for — which is why a renamed game kept scraping under
its old title, and why a pasted SteamGridDB key could leave the scraper switched off. The
keyboard's answer could also be dropped outright for a field opened by tapping it rather than by
moving to it first. IGDB and RetroAchievements save once both halves are filled, never a
half-empty pair over working credentials. - The DS screenshot on the main screen shows the top screen, not the seam. A DS capture is both
screens stacked in one tall image and the frame is landscape, so a centred crop landed exactly on
the join and showed half of each. - The homescreen can no longer be taken down by a missing dependency container. A crash log
caughtKoinApplication has not been startedthrown from the home activity's resume. For an
ordinary app that is one crash dialog; for the default Home app it is the screen the device falls
back to. The container is now brought up if it is ever found missing instead of crashing. - A large custom background no longer stalls the shelf. It was decoded at full resolution on the
main thread — a 12-megapixel photo is roughly 48MB of bitmap before the shelf can draw. It now
decodes in the background, sampled to no larger than the screen, and an animated background stops
animating when nothing is looking at it.
