This alpha adds more ways to find what you need, greater control over search suggestions, and new tools for managing history and downloads.
What’s new
- Choose your app language. WebLibre’s interface is now available in German, Spanish, Indonesian, Russian, and Simplified Chinese, alongside English. Choose a language in Settings → General → App Language, or select System default. English remains the default until you change it.
- Find actions from search. Type in the search screen to find browser actions, settings, feeds, containers, and profiles. Tap a result to use it; pressing Enter still searches for the text as usual.
- Get better address suggestions. WebLibre can now complete addresses from your bookmarks, including paths within bookmarked sites.
- Control where suggestions come from. New Search settings let you turn history-based suggestions on or off. Searches in private tabs do not use remote suggestions or regular browsing history by default; you can opt in if you prefer. Turning off history suggestions does not delete your history.
- Manage history more easily. A Distinct URLs view groups repeat visits to the same address. You can also delete history from the last hour, today, the last week, or a custom date and time range. Time-range deletion clears matching entries from the downloads list but keeps the downloaded files.
- Remember your download app. If you use an external download manager, you can choose Always use this app when prompted. You can clear that choice in Downloads settings to be asked again.
Fixes and improvements
- Adding a site to your home screen now uses the storage or container associated with the tab you’re adding, including when you start from a tab card.
- History displays permanent and temporary redirects with the correct labels.
