Coming from 2.x: your data stays. A 2.x project opens with its drums on track 1 and its synths one track later; nothing is migrated or erased.
Coming from SLOOP, Felucca or Bubba 1.x: the first boot erases everything stored on the FM-1, including the knob calibration.
What's new
- One button, one screen. EDIT, ENV, LFO, FX, SCL, ARP, SEQ, GLO and SAVE each open the screen named as them; the same button again turns that screen's pages and never leaves it. The places, tabs and shortcuts are gone.
- Each screen drawn for what it does. ENV is a curve, LFO a wave, FX a chain with its sends, SCL the key on a keyboard, ARP a ladder, GLO eight faders. What a knob turns is drawn in that knob's colour.
- The drums are track 1, the mixer's first channel. EDIT on the drums is their KIT (each sound's volume); SEQ is their grid, then their pads, then their pattern.
- SAMPLER mode (after the PO-33 and the KO II): EDIT on a SLICE track enters on the PADS, ready to play. EDIT cuts and then sets the track's sound; SEQ steps; SCL plays one pad tuned on every key (KEYS, new). HOME leaves.
- SCENES mode (HOME on PLAY): white 1–4 launch scenes A–D on the bar, one held and others tapped make a chain, 5–8 store, REC records the song.
- No more black flash on PLAY when the track changes.

Under the hood
- Projects keep their stored layout; the tracks are permuted when a project is loaded or saved. The KEYS pad uses a byte the sample edit had reserved.
- Flash 568,840 B (12.7 KB free), RAM 93,536 B. Every host test passes; the golden audio renders are unchanged.
