FSR 4 on any card, runtimes you can see and switch, colour and tone in the upscalers, HDR games in Neural Rendering, and a recorder that turns a bug into a file we can replay.
Download LSAddonManager-0.9.5-x64.zip, close Lossless Scaling and run LSAddonManagerSetup.exe (Install, Update or Repair). Your settings carry over.
FSR 4
- The FSR Upscaler (was "FSR 3 Upscaler") now has FSR version right under its Enable switch: AMD's FSR 3.1.4 (shipped, signed) or FSR 4.1.1b, the OptiScaler team's INT8 build of AMD's machine-learning upscaler, which runs on cards AMD's own FSR 4 does not, NVIDIA's included. It follows a moving picture noticeably better. Switching takes a second while the game runs.
- The FSR 4 build is a stand-in until AMD's own FSR 4 runs on every card; it is not signed. Thanks to the OptiScaler team.
Runtimes, bottom left
- Every file the addons run on (NVIDIA's DLSS, AMD's FSR, your Neural Rendering model) with its version: a tick when it is loaded, a circle when its addon waits for a game, a cross when its addon is off, and unsigned or modified when the file is not as its maker signed it. Hover for the maker, the path and the SHA-256.
- + switches between the shipped file and others you add, while the game runs. Shipped is always first, a file that is not the right kind is refused, and updates never touch the files you added.
The upscalers
- Vibrance, saturation, shadows, highlights, brightness, contrast and gamma, kept per game. They cost nothing (they ride on a pass that already runs), and while DLSS 5 Neural Rendering is on its own Picture controls take over.
- The DLSS Upscaler (was "DLSS 4 Upscaler") has a third model, E (DLSS 3's CNN), which keeps a still picture crisper here.
- FSR is set up the way AMD's SDK 2.3 asks (non-linear colour, the API version); the panel names the FSR that runs.
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering
- HDR games: 16-bit (scRGB) and 10-bit (HDR10) frames are worked on through an SDR view of them, and only the change goes back, so highlights keep their brightness. Automatic, with a Frame encoding setting if your setup is judged wrong. Not yet tried on a real HDR display: tell us how it looks.
Recording (all three addons)
- Keeps the last few seconds of the frames the addon receives and saves them on Ctrl+Shift+F5 (off by default, free when off). Send one with a bug report and the problem can be replayed and fixed on another computer.
Fixes
- Upscaler recordings take the frame as it goes to DLSS or FSR (NIS's own input can read black with frame generation off); a moved or deleted runtime falls back to the shipped one; a model chosen in the Runtimes list is not saved over; the Runtimes list's hover and loaded checks are cheap.
Neural Rendering needs your own copy of nvngx_dlssnr.dll: it is not part of this download, and this project does not download it or say where to get it. Everything else works without it.
