Echo Addon Manager 0.7.0
Tested with World of Warcraft: Forever (the beta; it runs as WowB.exe) and Lossless Scaling 3.2.2.0 (the official build) on Windows 11 with an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Other games and setups are untested. Unofficial and not affiliated with the Lossless Scaling developers: read DISCLAIMER.md first.
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering needs a file you provide yourself. It needs your own copy of
nvngx_dlssnr.dll. It is not included in this download, this project does not download it, and it does not say where to get it. Everything else works without it.
Echo Addon Manager gives Lossless Scaling an addon system: one window to install, switch on and tune addons, a live frame-time and GPU view while a game runs, and one-click backup of every setting. It comes with the DLSS 5 Neural Rendering addon and two built-in features, ReShade input passthrough and Windowed mode. EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe in the zip installs, updates, repairs and uninstalls it, with backups and a rollback: no renaming DLLs by hand.
What changed since 0.6.0
- Setup fixes (found by reading the code): it now recognises a running Lossless Scaling however the folder is written (trailing or forward slashes,
.., short 8.3 names), replaces read-only files instead of failing, keeps each run's backups in their own folder even within the same second, allows only one Setup window at a time, and handles a drive-root folder. If you pick the folder above Lossless Scaling's, it finds the one inside. - The tray icon comes back if Windows refuses it once after Explorer restarts (a real log showed it lost for a whole session).
- A sample addon (
examples/SampleAddon, in the source), tested against the real manager, and a written promise for the addon API (docs/api-compatibility.md). - A questions-and-answers page (
docs/faq.md) and shareable model compatibility reports: Test compatibility now writes a short text file (card, driver, Windows, the model file's name, version and size, the result; no folders, user name or hash) with an Open the compatibility report button, anddocs/model-compatibility.mdcollects them. - Automated builds on GitHub, and a rewritten README.
Install
- Download
EchoAddonManager-0.7.0-x64.zipbelow and unzip it. - Close Lossless Scaling and run
EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe. Follow it. - Start Lossless Scaling once. The manager opens by itself.
Upgrading from 0.6.0: run Setup and choose Update. Nothing to migrate. (By hand: copy the new files over the old ones; the steps are in INSTALL.txt.)
Unsigned files. Like everything in this project, EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe and nr_selftest.exe are not signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you ("More info", then "Run anyway"), and antivirus software may object. If it removes nr_selftest.exe, the Test compatibility button says the test program is missing and nothing else is affected. The installer's source is in the installer/ folder.
The update check (on by default, off in Settings > Updates) only compares version numbers once a day: nothing is downloaded or installed, and it is the manager's only network access.
