Echo Addon Manager 0.6.0
Tested with World of Warcraft: Forever (the beta; it runs as WowB.exe) and Lossless Scaling 3.2.2.0 (the official build) on Windows 11 with an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Other games and setups are untested. Unofficial and not affiliated with the Lossless Scaling developers: read DISCLAIMER.md first.
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering needs a file you provide yourself. It needs your own copy of
nvngx_dlssnr.dll. It is not included in this download, this project does not download it, and it does not say where to get it. Everything else works without it.
New: an installer. EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe is in the zip: one file, a small window. Close Lossless Scaling, run it, and it installs, updates, repairs after a Lossless Scaling update, or uninstalls, with backups and a rollback. No more renaming DLLs by hand. The README was rewritten around it.
What changed since 0.5.0
EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe. It finds your Lossless Scaling folder (a running copy, the last folder you used, Steam libraries, usual places on every drive such asUtilitiesandGames, or Browse for any other copy) and offers the one thing that fits: Install, Update, Repair (Lossless Scaling put its ownLossless.dllback) or Reinstall, plus Uninstall. It refuses while Lossless Scaling is running, copies everything it replaces to abackupsfolder first (nothing is deleted), checks every file after copying, puts the folder back exactly as it was if anything fails, and never touches your settings, other addons or removed addons. It asks for administrator rights only if the folder needs them. Afterwards it can copy your ownnvngx_dlssnr.dllinto the folder; nothing is downloaded.- New tests: the installer's core, its file bundle (including damaged and hostile bundles) and the exe end to end on fake folders, all in the offline test runner.
- README rewritten, with a troubleshooting section; the addon README and user guide, and
INSTALL.txt, start with Setup. - Neural Rendering itself is unchanged (version follows the manager).
Install
- Download
EchoAddonManager-0.6.0-x64.zipbelow and unzip it. - Close Lossless Scaling and run
EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe. Follow it. - Start Lossless Scaling once. The manager opens by itself.
Upgrading from 0.5.0: run Setup and choose Update. Nothing to migrate. (By hand: copy the new files over the old ones, as before; the steps are in INSTALL.txt.)
Unsigned files. Like everything in this project, EchoAddonManagerSetup.exe and nr_selftest.exe are not signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you ("More info", then "Run anyway"), and antivirus software may object. If it removes nr_selftest.exe, the Test compatibility button says the test program is missing and nothing else is affected. The installer's source is in the installer/ folder.
The update check (on by default, off in Settings > Updates) only compares version numbers once a day: nothing is downloaded or installed, and it is the manager's only network access.
