Echo Addon Manager 0.5.0
Tested with World of Warcraft: Forever (the beta; it runs as WowB.exe) and Lossless Scaling 3.2.2.0 (the official build) on Windows 11 with an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Other games and setups are untested. Unofficial and not affiliated with the Lossless Scaling developers: read DISCLAIMER.md first.
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering needs a file you provide yourself. It needs your own copy of
nvngx_dlssnr.dll. It is not included in this download, this project does not download it, and it does not say where to get it. Everything else works without it.
This release adds an update check and takes the first steps toward 1.0 (see the roadmap). Neural Rendering itself is unchanged.
What changed since 0.4.1
- An update check, on by default. Once a day the manager asks github.com for the latest release of this project and compares version numbers. If there is a newer one, the status bar says so, the About and Settings tabs show it with an Open the download page button, and a notice appears once. It never downloads or installs anything. Turn it off in Settings > Updates; Check now always works. It is the manager's only network access: one HTTPS request that GitHub sees as your IP address plus the program's name and version.
Lossless.dllcarries a version resource (product "Echo Addon Manager", the release number), so Explorer shows the version and the coming installer can tell it apart from Lossless Scaling's ownLossless.dll.- The README, the user guide and
INSTALL.txtsay what this was tested with: World of Warcraft: Forever. - Toward 1.0: the installer's core (finding the folder, installing, repairing after a Lossless Scaling update, uninstalling, with backups and a rollback) is built and tested on fake folders, but is not part of this download yet; the window comes next.
- More offline tests: the update check (46 checks against a local server) and the installer core (84 checks).
Install
- Download
EchoAddonManager-0.5.0-x64.zipbelow and unzip it. - Close Lossless Scaling and open its folder.
- First time only: rename the original
Lossless.dlltoLossless_original.dll(keep it: the manager forwards to it). - Copy
Lossless.dll, the twoLP-iconfiles and theaddonsfolder from the zip into that folder. - Start Lossless Scaling once. The manager opens by itself.
Upgrading from 0.4.1: copy the new files over the old ones. Nothing to migrate. Start only one copy of Lossless Scaling at a time. The update check is on from the first start; switch it off in Settings > Updates if you prefer.
nr_selftest.exe is unsigned, like everything in this project. If your security software removes it, the Test compatibility button says the test program is missing and nothing else is affected.
