Sideraven 1.1.0, based on Firefox for Android 156.0.
Sideraven 1.1 makes the Sidebar yours: your Spaces' colours, your buttons, your layout, and a full-screen mode for when you want nothing but the page.
New features
- Space themes. Each Space tints the Sidebar, its Essentials and address bar, and the frame around the page with its colours. Spaces synced from Zen bring their desktop gradient; Spaces made on your device use their accent. Look and feel → Theme.
- Pure black. A black dark theme for OLED screens. Your Space colours stay as accents.
- Full screen. Hide Android's status bar, or both it and the navigation bar. Swipe in from the top or bottom edge to see them for a moment. Off unless you turn it on: Look and feel → Full screen.
- Swipe the address bar. Swipe the Sidebar's address bar up for a new tab, or sideways for the next or previous tab.
- Tabs from the bottom. The Tab List can rest on the bottom edge and grow upwards, so your newest tabs sit by the address bar, within thumb reach. Tabs → Tabs start from.
- Synced tabs. Your tabs from other devices are a tap away, from a Sidebar button or the ⋮ menu.
- Choose your Sidebar buttons. Synced tabs, Change mode and Move address bar can each sit in the Sidebar or move to the ⋮ menu.
- Arrange sidebar. In Collapsed mode, pick Arrange sidebar from the ⋮ menu and drag the bars under Essentials and Pinned Tabs to size them. Portrait and landscape keep their own sizes, and Reset goes back to automatic.
- Collapsed mode on phones. Keep a narrow strip of icons on screen instead of a hidden Sidebar.
Changes
- New look for Sideraven Settings. Switches for on and off, buttons for short choices, pictures for the Sidebar's mode and the address bar's layout, and plainer wording throughout. Essentials settings moved into Tabs.
- Zen's names. The modes are now Expanded, Collapsed and Compact (1.0's Persistent and Auto-Hide), and the address bar layouts are Sidebar and toolbar, or Only sidebar.
- The address bar starts in the Sidebar on new installs, and for anyone who never chose a layout. If you picked one, it stays.
- In Collapsed mode, Essentials and Pinned Tabs size themselves, and the Tab List always keeps at least 40% of the height. This replaces 1.0's draggable dividers.
- Switching to a Space with no tabs, or making a new one, shows its home page instead of opening the keyboard.
- Swiping Fenix's toolbar up no longer opens the tab tray beside a Sidebar: your tabs are already in it. (It worked on web pages but not on the home page.)
- The first-run screen for choosing the toolbar's position shows the raven instead of the fox.
Fixes
- Fixed two address bars appearing after "Open in Sideraven" from another app's tab.
- Fixed a keyboard with nowhere to type when switching to private (or back) with no tabs open; the search pop-up opens instead.
- Fixed the private home page showing a lighter block of purple behind its description.
- Fixed the bar under Pinned Tabs lagging behind your finger while arranging.
