github DrummingBird1/gow-psp-recomp v1.5.0

Bug fixes from your reports since v1.4.0. Download GoW_PSP_Launcher-v1.5.0.zip, unzip it and run GoW_PSP\GoWLauncher.exe; a launcher from v1.2.0 on offers the update by itself. Your builds, saves and settings stay.

  • Fix: keys of the numeric keypad could not be bound (#57). The Controls page saved a keypad digit as the digit above the letters, and with NumLock off as End, Insert and so on, so the keypad did nothing in the game. Keypad keys are now saved as themselves (Keypad 0-9, ., /, *, -, +, Enter), whatever NumLock says.
  • Fix: "the disc reader could not be built" (#46, 'libchdr/chd.h' file not found). A download of libchdr that had lost its files (cut short, or removed by an antivirus program) was still taken as complete, so every Build failed the same way. Build now notices it, downloads libchdr again, and otherwise says what is wrong.
  • The mouse cursor stays out of the way (#44). With a mouse button bound to the game, the cursor is hidden whenever the game window has focus. Otherwise it hides after 2 seconds without movement, now in a window too, not only in fullscreen.
  • A freeze leaves a trace in the log (#52, #54). When the game stops moving for 4 seconds, the log gets a [stall] line with what was running, written at once, so a bug report of a freeze now shows where it stopped.
  • Downloads can be checked against the source: the ZIP and the exe now carry a build provenance from GitHub, besides the SHA-256 in SHA256SUMS.txt:
gh attestation verify GoW_PSP_Launcher-v1.5.0.zip --repo DrummingBird1/gow-psp-recomp

Still open: the freeze after the Persian King's death movie (#52, #54) and the endless waves in The Vortex (#51, #56) don't happen on our discs; a save from just before them would help.

Bring your own disc: the download contains no game data.
