github DroppedNeedle/DroppedNeedle v2.4.1
v2.4.1 - PATCH - Unmatched play history no longer blocks the library upgrade, and removed library roots can be restored

v2.4.1 (2026-08-15)

Fixes

  • Play history that the library upgrade can't match to a track no longer stops the upgrade. The entries are kept as-is instead, and when the same recording appears on several releases the upgrade narrows it down by album and track name instead of giving up.

  • When an upgrade does fail, the error now says what went wrong. It names the failure reason, points at the detail file, and explains the options: switch back to your previous image, install a corrected one, or fix the data and restart.

  • The library settings page no longer lets you remove every library root while the catalog still has tracks. DroppedNeedle refuses the save and suggests excluding the root's policy instead.

  • Roots that disappeared from the configuration can be restored from the Library settings page. Their original identities and paths are recovered from the catalog, so a restore doesn't rescan everything as new.
