Your settings start fresh once. This release begins every player from its new defaults (the developer's own settings, without the picture settings that depend on your graphics card and headset, the weapon choices or the button layout). On the first start, your old settings file is kept as %LOCALAPPDATA%\RDRVR\RDRVR.user.ini.before-0.8.9.bak; nothing is deleted. To bring an old value back, copy its line into RDRVR.user.ini or set it again in the menu.
New
- John's own belt, customizable (the Holsters tab, "Customize John's belt", on with the developer's layout; used in a Quest 3): move and turn his holster, knife sheath, satchel, lasso and rifle sling, by arrows or by hand, each drawn whole where you put it, plus a mirrored holster at the left hip for a second sidearm. Untick it for the game's own belt. It replaces 0.8.8's belt of props.
- Each holster's ring on its own piece of the belt, and "Rings stay on their holsters": moving a piece moves its ring the same way, and the other way round.
- Holstered guns turned and moved by hand to sit in their holsters.
- Reset buttons: "Reset the belt to the game's positions" and "Reset the rings to their defaults" (each on a second click).
- A Lasso holster on John's lasso (in place of the lower back's knife-and-lasso holster; the knife holster holds the knife only). Tried in the developer's simulator only.
- "Any weapon in the gun holsters" now covers the hips and the backs only; the knife, satchel and lasso holsters keep their own items, the chest the rounds.
The menu, cleaned up (used in a Quest 3)
Nine tabs instead of thirteen (Display, Comfort, Body, Holsters, Guns, Reloading, Gestures, Controls, Advanced), each setting where you would look for it, shorter plain tips, "(restart)" and "(experimental)" marks, the sound switches in the menu, and the switches whose off side only brought back a fixed problem moved to the ini. The README's Menu guide lists every row.
Fixed
- On horseback, John's body and holsters stay under you at a gallop (they slid about 45 cm back). Used in a Quest 3.
- The left hip's and left back's rings no longer sway with John's idle or move with the right hip's ring.
- Going back to the game's main menu (the game restarts itself) crashed. Tried in the developer's simulator.
- Every render resolution can be chosen again (no size is blocked after an early quit).
- With moved belt pieces drawn whole, John's body could look see-through with DLSS or TAA.
Needs RedHook v0.8 (not included): see the README's Installation.
