- Project: Q2 Pod's code and documentation are now under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPL-3.0-only). Releases up to 1.7.1 were MIT and stay so; LICENSE-MIT keeps those terms for the contributions made under them.
- App Store: a game from the App Store can own the sound: music stops and the headphones are its while it runs, Play/Pause and the side buttons reach it, and it stays open as long as it likes. Groovebox is the first.
- Display: Shortcut offers Groovebox once the App Store's Groovebox is installed, between Audiobooks and Rockbox; Home's shortcut row opens it, and hides while it isn't on the card.
- Power: Smart Wi-Fi, in System settings → Power and off by default, turns Wi-Fi off after 5 minutes when nothing uses it, to save battery while you play your own music. It comes back when you open Streaming or the Wi-Fi settings, and anything that needs it, such as Spotify, Internet Radio or Upload Scrobbles, says Connecting to Wi-Fi… and waits a few seconds for it.
- Now Playing: on the lyrics page, touch and hold a line and the song plays from that line. It used to play from a line further down, more lines down the further the lyrics had scrolled.
- Now Playing: on the lyrics page, the page stays still under a finger held on a line, even if it rolls a little sideways. It used to slide toward the next page. A real swipe still turns the page.
- Display: under Theme: Classic the volume bar in Quick Settings and on other pages takes your accent colour, as Now Playing's does. Classic Blue keeps its own blue.
- Display: with Light Mode on, the volume no longer draws a thin white line around the edges of the screen.
- Display: under Theme: Classic the play/pause symbol stays by the battery on Home too, as on every other page. It used to move to the left, in place of the "Q2 Pod" title.
- Library: Frequent is gone. Most Played, just above it, lists your most played songs.
- Library: under Theme: Classic album covers in Albums and Folder have a small gap between them. They used to touch.
