- Scrobbling:
PERCENT=in.scrobble.ini's[SCROBBLE]section, from 1 to 100, scrobbles a song only once you've heard that share of it, as phone scrobblers offer. Without it a song scrobbles at half its length or four minutes, as before. - Resume: with Memory Playback or In-Vehicle Mode on, the queue you left comes back after turning the Q2 off and on, as you left it: songs added with Play Next or Add to Queue, several albums of an artist, or a folder. It came back as your whole library at the same song, unless an advanced play mode (Shuffle Albums, a Repeat) was on.
- Display: Night Shift, the last row of System settings → Display, makes the screen warmer for use at night, from 5000K to 2000K (3400K at first). The switch or Centre turns it on, to Auto and off; Auto warms the screen from 19:00 to 7:00, the hours Light Mode's Auto is dark. Turn the wheel or drag the slider right for warmer. Videos keep their own colours.
- App Store: Podcasts subscribes to shows by their feeds, or finds them in Apple's podcast directory, and downloads their episodes over Wi-Fi, which play from where you stopped.
- Card apps: songs a card app plays show their title, artist and album in Now Playing, read from their tags. They showed the file name and an unknown artist before.
- Card apps: Go to Album and Go to Artist on a song from an app that offers them open that album or artist in the app.
- Card apps: an app can set a sleep timer that pauses playback at a time, or when the song playing ends, even after you leave the app. Podcasts' Sleep Timer uses it.
- Display: Smart Awake also keeps the screen on over the full-screen album art while a song plays, so with Enlarged Album Art on the art page stays lit too. It already covered the lyrics, full-screen lyrics included.
- Display: touching an album in a grid, or one of the two buttons at the top of Playlists, shows a grey card shaped like the selection's, rounded under Rounded Corners. It was a square box, and touching the first album in a row greyed the whole row.
- Home: Carousel's cards keep Shanling's own colours again, whatever your Theme, accent or Light Mode.
- Coverflow: an album's cover comes from its first song, the lowest disc and track number, instead of whichever song the library happened to list. Covers already drawn, in Coverflow and in Library → Albums, stay until you press System settings → Display → Coverflow → Refresh Coverflow once, which now redoes Library's album covers too.
- Folder view: a folder's cover comes from its first song by name, instead of the first file copied to the card.
- Display: deleting a song, its Also delete source file box sits under the question again. Since 1.5.1 the two were drawn over each other.
- USB DAC: gapless albums play without a gap between songs (#159). Shanling's firmware gave a USB DAC a tenth of a second of audio to spare at a song change, against half a second on the headphone jack, so it could run dry and leave up to a second of silence. If the Q2 sets the volume of a USB DAC that has no volume control of its own, a volume change can now take up to half a second to be heard.
- Now Playing: Display → Controls → Single Press Scrub, off by default, swaps the centre button's presses on Now Playing: a single press starts scrubbing through the song and a double press turns the screen off, as on every other page. The presses work the same while the volume shows over Now Playing, and starting a scrub closes the volume (#165).
- Settings: Click With Headphones moved from Display → Controls to System settings, under Key Tone, and only shows while Key Tone is on. Your setting is kept.
- Crossfade: a song that fades into one at a different sample rate now fades. The outgoing song's last seconds were dropped there, so in a shuffle across 44.1 and 48 or 96 kHz files most changes had no fade and lost those seconds (#164). On the headphone jack the output still switches rate at the change, so a short pause stays before the fade is heard.
- Crossfade, Mono Audio and the visualizer: the audio filter they need is put back after the player restarts, instead of only once per boot.
- Crossfade: songs fade in Shanling's own Shuffle too, the one Now Playing's mode button and Play Mode give, where no song ever faded (#164). The next song is only drawn as the current one ends, so every change fades there, and a short gap can come before the fade as the player starts the new file. Shuffle Songs, from the Library, fades as before, only into another album.
