• Now Playing: the album art changes with the song again after you skip back and forth, on both the regular and Centred pages. It could stay on the previous song's cover.
• Playlists: holding Play/Pause on a playlist row opens a menu to Play Next, Add to Queue or Shuffle its songs (#136). More… at its end opens the playlist's More page, which the hold opened before.
• Streaming: Erase Spotify Data moved from the App Store to Streaming → Configuration, under Spotify Cache. Press it twice, as before, to delete Spotify's login and cache; Spotify Cache goes back to 2 GB.
• Now Playing: in Centred Now Playing, tap the lyrics to show them full screen, across the whole width, with the art, title, buttons and progress bar out of the way. Tap again or press Back to return; swiping to another page returns too.
• Home: Display → Appearance → Home has a third choice, Carousel: Shanling's card carousel, with the Pod's cards (Coverflow and your Shortcut among them) in your accent and Theme.
• Downloads: the Legacy edition is discontinued, and a release carries one update.tar. If you're on a Legacy build, Network Update can't move you over: install update.tar by hand once, as for a first install.
• Lyrics: a .lrc file saved as UTF-8 loads properly again when it has an emoji, or Korean, accented or curly-quote characters close together near its start. Shanling's check took some of those files for Chinese GB18030 and showed them garbled or cut short.
• Performance: Shuffle Songs, and View Queue while Shuffle is on, start faster on a big library: two sorts of the whole queue that the shuffle then undid are skipped.
• Performance: on a big card, the Library no longer stalls the first time you open it after a restart. It was searching every folder on the card for database.ignore files then. That search now runs during Update Local Music, so adding or removing a database.ignore or database.unignore file takes effect after Update Local Music, not after a restart. If you use these files, run Update Local Music once after updating.
• Home: in Split, the panning album art is sharper, about twice as crisp as in 1.5.8, and still evenly sharp as it moves.
• App Store: removing a card app (Deezer, Soulseek, File Browser, Subsonic) deletes its whole folder, its saved login and settings too. They stayed on the card before. Your music stays.
• Card apps: the firmware lists the card-app features it has in /tmp/q2-addon.caps, so apps can use new features and fall back on older firmware.
• Card apps: Stream mode can play a playlist file of songs on the card, waiting for each streamed song as it arrives, so an app can mix synced and streamed songs. A queue you start yourself while it waits keeps playing. Streaming now takes every format the Q2 plays, not only FLAC and MP3.
• Card apps: when two apps have each streamed (Deezer and Subsonic, say), the one you started last keeps playing. Before, Now Playing could switch between them every half second.
• Card apps: a progress row shows a bar in Q2 Pod's style, for an app's sync or download progress.
• Card apps: an app can ask the Q2 to update the library and import its playlists after a sync. The Q2 waits until nothing is playing (AirPlay and Bluetooth audio included) and you're on Home, Streaming, the app's page, Now Playing or a settings page, shows the usual Update Local Music progress (which stops the player, so with a song paused it also waits for the screen to turn off), and replaces the app's own playlists instead of adding copies, while a playlist of yours with the same name is left alone. A playlist name can be up to 63 bytes long.
• Card apps: an app can have its long lists load in full, up to 500 rows, instead of stopping at 50 behind More…, so the wheel speeds up and shows the big letter through the whole list, as in the Library. Other apps, and lists that keep updating (such as downloads), still show More….
• Display: Controls → Click With Headphones, off by default, keeps Key Tone's click sounding from the Q2's speaker while headphones, Bluetooth or a USB DAC are connected, as the stock firmware does. The click never plays in the headphones. With Key Tone off it stays silent.
• Now Playing: with Enlarged Album Art on, the lyrics, info and visualizer pages no longer flash dark every 10 seconds (#153). The art's countdown now waits while you're off the art page, instead of opening and closing at once.
• Display: under Rounded Corners, a selected row in Folder view is rounded like every other list's. Its hidden multi-select checkbox made it square.
• Games: in Sudoku, the cursor's frame is visible with the Graphite accent. It used the grid's grey and now uses the accent's brighter tone, under every accent.
• Card apps: an app's list that keeps loading while another window is on top no longer disturbs that window's list, such as the big letter during a fast spin.
• Library: .database.ignore and .database.unignore, hidden with a leading dot, work as database.ignore and database.unignore do, so other players don't list them (#154). Run Update Local Music after adding one.
• App Store: Subsonic, a card app for Navidrome and other Subsonic servers, browses, streams and syncs your music to the card. The App Store's list comes from the Q2 Pod repo, so it shows on Q2 Pod 1.4.3 or later without a firmware update.
