Edge-Drop v0.2.2 - Segmented Settings Architecture, Web Audio Haptic Suite & Proximity Beacon

Welcome to Edge-Drop v0.2.2. This major update introduces a stationary 3-category Settings architecture with independent scroll memory, a real-time synthesized Web Audio API haptic sound suite, customizable trigger alignment with edge location hint beacons, and 5% magnetic tick sliders.

Key Features in this Release

1. Segmented 3-Category Settings Navigation

• Stationary Top Header: Fixed category tab bar (Behaviour, Position, Appearance) stays 100% stationary at the top while settings controls scroll independently underneath it.
• Independent Scroll Memory per Section: Each category section maintains its own separate scroll position across tab switches, returning right where you left off.
• Pure CSS Selection Sync: Native active tab styling eliminates layout projection glitches during vertical panel movements.

2. Synthesized Web Audio Haptic Suite

• Zero-Asset Sound Engine: Real-time Web Audio API sound synthesis providing tactile audio feedback for UI micro-interactions without audio file assets.
• Haptic Sound Types: Mechanical dial ticks (playDialTickSound), tactile button clicks (playButtonClickSound), switch pops (playToggleSound), and mechanical dual-stage delete thuds (playDeleteSound).
• Global Sound Control: Added a global Sound effects toggle switch in Settings (ON by default) with eager AudioContext auto-unlock on initial user interaction.

3. Independent Trigger Position Alignment & Edge Location Hint

• Independent Edge Trigger Placement: Choose exact trigger strip placement (Top, Center, or Bottom) relative to the shelf, with dynamic CSS clipPath calculation matching the exact sensor region.
• Edge Location Hint (Proximity Beacon): Subtle 1.5px hairline gradient pulse (300ms duration, 0.28 opacity) that flashes once on the screen edge when touching the edge at a misaligned vertical position.

4. 5% Magnetic Tick Slider & Application Management

• Smooth 1-to-1 Drag Tracking: Continuous 0.002 high-precision tracking during drag with 60fps/120fps real-time cursor alignment, live percentage badge (50%), and percentage quick-jump buttons (0%, 50%, 100%).
• Magnetic 5% Snapping: Automatically snaps to the nearest 5% tick mark on pointer release with dial tick audio feedback.
• Quit Edge-Drop Action: Integrated Quit Edge-Drop button under Application settings with IPC integration to cleanly terminate electron main and background processes.
• Independent Pinned Section Collapse: Each filter category tab (All, Text, Links, Images, Files) maintains its own independent pinned section collapse/expand state (collapsedMap), persisted across sessions.

Installation Instructions

1. Download Edge-Drop-Setup-0.2.2.exe from the Assets section below.
2. Run Edge-Drop-Setup-0.2.2.exe to install or upgrade.
3. The app will launch silently in the background. Move your mouse cursor to your configured screen edge to slide open the clipboard shelf!
