github Darkdragon14/VolumeVault v2.0.5

Summary

  • Move environment selection into the shared header and remember the choice in the authenticated server session. The themed menu stays visible on mobile.
  • Keep the header on one line, group Backup jobs and Backup groups under Backups, and place desktop navigation beside the alert bell and compact account menu.
  • Change environments through a full Dashboard reload, with confirmation before discarding unsaved form changes. Normal navigation continues to use Inertia; browser history restores refresh from the server.
  • Keep explicit URL filters temporary, and preserve independent backup/restore execution hosts and stateless API behavior. Update interface and changelog translations in all nine languages.

Upgrade Notes

  • No database migrations are included. Pull or rebuild the updated VolumeVault image and recreate the container, preserving existing storage and APP_KEY. Reload the page to load the new assets.
  • Switching environments returns to Dashboard. Cancelling the unsaved-changes confirmation keeps the draft; confirming discards it.
  • Use server-side sessions and a cache driver supporting atomic locks (database by default, or file/redis). Cookie-only sessions are not supported. Stateful requests are serialized; locks expire after at most 300 seconds and normally release when the request finishes, with a 10-second wait limit.
  • A docker_host_id URL parameter filters only that request; use the header menu to save the environment choice for subsequent navigation.

Verification

  • Release changelog validation and targeted tests passed: 16 tests, 71 assertions. Pint and diff checks passed.
  • Feature validation passed the full PHP suite (1,752 passed, 29 optional/environment skips), frontend tests (236 passed), production frontend and local application image builds. The existing frontend bundle-size warning remains.
  • Browser checks covered all nine languages, light/dark themes and 320–2000px layouts, including native environment switching, dirty-form confirmation and history refresh. The test image was deployed on Claptrap and passed container health and HTTP checks.
  • GitHub Actions tests and container publication passed on the merged application changes.
