v0.8.1
This is a patch release that makes the Managarr CLI dramatically friendlier to scripts and LLM agents, and fixes two bugs: a startup panic in sandboxed environments and a --servarr-name selection bug for Readarr instances.
Breaking Changes (CLI scripting)
- CLI errors are now emitted as structured JSON on stderr instead of plain red text. Any scripts that parse the old plaintext error output will need to be updated to parse the new JSON format (see below). Exit codes are unchanged, and the TUI and log output are unaffected.
Features
- Uniform JSON error output in the CLI: All errors from CLI commands now come out in the same JSON format to further improve scripting and LLM integration (11524bb). Every CLI error is printed to stderr as:
HTTP errors include the numeric response
{ "error": { "message": "Request failed. Received 404 response code with body: ...", "status": 404, "body": { "message": "NotFound" } } }statusand the responsebody(parsed as JSON when possible); all other errors (configuration, connection, etc.) report"status": nulland"body": null, so consumers can always rely on the same shape.
Fixes
- Managarr no longer panics at startup when the log directory cannot be created or written to (read-only home directories, sandboxed builds, etc.). It now prints a warning to stderr and continues with file logging disabled (#67, 0f230a1)
- The
--servarr-nameglobal switch now correctly selects the named Readarr instance when runningmanagarr readarrCLI commands against a config with multiple Readarr instances (11524bb)
