NeuralNote v2.2.0
Fixed
- Crash when transcribing on older processors without AVX, on Windows and Intel Macs. These processors are now supported. (#218, #232)
- Crash when transcribing on Macs with a discrete AMD GPU. (#246)
- Crash on Macs whose GPU lacks Metal features the model needs: Intel and AMD GPUs before macOS 13, and older GPUs on any macOS version. NeuralNote now checks the GPU before using it. On
Auto, a GPU that can't run the model, or can't be initialised, is skipped and transcription runs on the CPU. If you selected that GPU yourself, you get an error asking you to pickAutoorCPUinstead of a crash. (#218) - Crash on Windows when using the GPU with Mirillis Action! installed. (#237, #238)
Added
- Loading
.m4afiles on macOS. (#235)
Changed
- Faster CPU transcription on Windows and Intel Macs. NeuralNote now picks the fastest CPU code your processor supports, so recent processors (AVX2/FMA) transcribe several times faster.
- After a transcription has checked a GPU,
Settings → Compute devicegreys it out if it can't run the model ("(not supported)") or couldn't be initialised ("(unavailable)"). TheAutoentry then shows which device it actually uses. - The audio load and MIDI export dialogs each open in the last folder they used.
- Debug symbol archives on the release page have new names, so they're less likely to be downloaded by mistake instead of the installer.
