You need your own US ROM of the game. Your saves and settings carry over.
New
- The launcher's buttons look like the game's own menus: pill rings that light up orange-red when
you point at them. They slide in once the poster is up, and any key, click or controller button
skips the opening. - A new settings menu in Conker's style: gold names, orange-red rings for your choices, orange
sliders, page titles like the pause menu's, and each setting explained in a speech bubble. Before
the game starts it sits over a blurred poster; while you play, your game shows darkened behind it. - Launcher Poster (Conker tab): pick the launcher's picture from 11 designs, or a random one each
start. The current collage, the old one with Conker at the bar, scenes from the opening (King,
Chainsaw, Dollar Eyes, Panther King, Three Scenes) and the characters (Birdy, Sunflower, Gregg,
Berri). The setting shows a picture of the one you pick. - The launcher opens quicker: the poster starts at once instead of after a black wait.
Fixes
- Linux: picking a ROM no longer closes the launcher. If the file picker can't open, the game
uses your desktop's own picker or shows a message instead. - Linux: connecting a controller while the game runs no longer crashes it (or switching it off
and on again). - The drunk wake-up scene no longer drops to 30 fps at high frame-rate limits.
- Speech volume changes straight away, even for a line that's already playing.
- R-Look and crouch toggles let go during cutscenes, so Conker no longer comes out of a
context-pad scene still aiming. - Ledge Grab no longer leaves Conker hanging facing away from the wall after running off an edge.
Experimental
- The two Linux fixes are tested on Windows and in a Linux test setup, not on a real Linux PC or a
Steam Deck yet. Please tell us if they work for you. - Still from before: Move While Shooting is the shotgun only, Ledge Grab can sometimes catch an edge
that isn't really a ledge, the German translation is tested with the intro and the speech bubbles, the
Russian one is recognised but untested, and the HD Icons (French) pack is incomplete.
Known issue
- With the Uncensored ROM, Conker's lips don't move while he talks to the cog in Bat's Tower, and two
lines are silent (the cog's after the third cog, and the Sergeant's at the end of It's War's beach).
The hack's re-recorded voices cause this; the original ROM is fine.
If anything's off, please open an issue with what you were doing and a screenshot if you can.
